The Doctor recommends that Seven should get a pet to explore her "nurturing" side. She won't admit that she enjoys having a pet, but gets VERY defensive when Janeway questions whether a lizard belongs clinging to her shoulder in astrometrics.
For those wondering, the lizard's name is "Two of Two." Initially, Janeway worries that this indicates the presence of another lizard, but eventually it comes out that Seven named him that because they "are part of the same unimatrix in the Voyager collective"

Hello!
Any tips for drawing the twin's hair please ? Whenever i draw them, i always draw Sah's as like a spiky mountain with a curtain since i dunno how to draw tall hair yet
And Mekh...um-
Yeah
Dw Sah's hair has been evolved from mountain to Kagamine Len. Not sure if that's an improvement tho lmao-
hello! and hey for what it's worth, i also have my moments where i'm drawing their hair and i go "what.. is going on here" LMAO but also len's hair isn't all that different from spiky twin's so i'd say that's improvement! but here are some things i try to keep in mind when drawing their hair
ignore me emoting at the bottom. i would simplify their hair as a tear drop for sah and a half circle for mekh, but i also do not want them to appear Too flat. hence, the shape is a base to build off of. it helps us determine the direction of the hair, how we layer it, and the space it occupies. but sol, why a tear drop and not a triangle? to which i say We must consider that sah has hair at the Back of their head that also extends from the nape of their neck so it must be considered when drawing the hair as a whole
determining a point where the hair parts/where the bangs start from also helps us better understand how the hair flows from that point
mekh has a bang in the middle of their hair and some face-framing bangs along their jaw. you can still see the basic half-circle/dome shape of their hair, and you can see how the sections of hair logically appear to flow from the marked point on their head. the top of their head is round, the bottom of their hair is basically Flat and straight across (it's just a bob that's very flared out at the bottom) which is why the back isnt really visible from the front unless you're looking at them from a lower angle. case in point:
mekh as viewed from the back and slightly below. the traced line shows that the bottom of their hair is basically a circle lol
now sah is..... Certainly Something..... ngl im not so sure how to describe them but i will try. their bangs sweep right and i try to keep their hair in Big triangular sections to resemble the model more closely. the back of their hair Also sweeps right. id say the spikes of their hair run along the curve of the aforementioned teardrop, and you can basically use a differently-angled teardrop for the front bang as well. But Sol, you may ask again, why are some of the spikes labeled as being the Back of their hair?
ok this pic quality sucks but you get the idea. when viewed from the side, you will see that their hair also flows Back. you can also see the hair coming from the nape of the neck. sah's hair is actually like.. sorta shaggy and longer, pretty multi-layered in the hypothetical scenario that it isn't styled up which is where all those spikes come from. (i'd even say it'd extend lower than mekh's if unstyled since mekh's is so bluntly cut across.)
this got kinda long but some ending notes: honestly don't be afraid to stylize and you don't need to be perfectly on-model with their hair. there's nothing wrong with using references either, i have a bunch of screenshots of the elders from different angles and if you/a friend has the hair you can also just screenshot that to give you a guideline. and also don't be hard on yourself if it looks kinda off or anything because i have drawn a lot of spiky haired characters in my time and i still sometimes look at stuff i deemed Fit To Post and go "hm. i would have drawn that differently if i redrew it today."
but uh i mostly just hope this was helpful LOL. good luck drawing the twins!

Yashahime Translation: Animage Magazine September 2020 Issue
Please do not repost this translation without my consent! This includes screenshots of any type and amount. If you wish to share this translation, simply link to this post.

This is an old article that was published back in August of 2020, before Yashahime began airing so please keep that in mind as you read this. I never translated this article until now so this is not a reprint or anything like that.
The Half-Demon Girls 2020 autumn SPOTLIGHT!
The feudal and modern era, the fantasy adventure that traverses the two time periods has started once again in the Reiwa period. The curtains will finally rise this fall on the feudal fairytale full of mystery and romanticism spun by three half-demon girls.
“Inuyasha” (original work by Takahashi Rumiko, published in Shōnen Sunday Comics) is an action adventure that was unfolded by a half-demon living in the feudal era named Inuyasha and a modern girl who time traveled to the feudal era named Higurashi Kagome. The anime ran from 2000 – 2004 and the depicts complex, jumbled human drama between humans and demons and the struggle for the Shikon Jewel. “Inuyasha The Final Act” was broadcasted from 2009 – 2010 which concluded the series and brought the curtains to a close.
Continuing that world and depicting a new adventure is “Hanyō no Yashahime”. Living in two different eras while still being twins are Towa and Setsuna, Sesshōmaru’s (Inuyasha’s elder brother) daughters. Then there’s Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter, Moroha. These three girls who have both human and demon blood are the protagonists of this work. Why did these girls end up moving together? Who is Towa and Setsuna’s mother? Why are the three of them living separately from their parents?... Currently, the full story is wrapped in mystery.
This month, we went directly to Sumisawa Katsuyuki-san who was the series composition writer and script writer for “Inuyasha” and “Inuyasha The Final Act” and now for this current work as well. For the anime staff too, the feelings for the Inuyasha series seems to have strongly taken root even now.
Higurashi Towa Sesshōmaru’s daughter and Setsuna’s elder twin sister. She slipped through time when she was little and was raised as Sōta’s (Kagome’s younger brother) daughter. She tends to get into fights easily.
Setsuna Sesshōmaru’s daughter and Towa’s younger twin sister. However, she does not remember Towa whom she was separated from when they were little. She is a member of the demon slayers headed by Kohaku.
Moroha Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter who has lived on her own since early childhood. She spends her days slaying demon bounties and takes the alias of “The monster killing Moroha”.
Sesshōmaru’s Two Daughters
Cool and beautiful, the proud and cool-headed Sesshōmaru was a prominently popular character in “Inuyasha”. His daughters, Towa and Setsuna, also have traces of him about them. “Setsuna and Towa strongly inherited Sesshōmaru’s “Yin” and “Yang” respectively. For that purpose, when thinking about their image, Rumiko-sensei also stated, “Please forget about the mother’s existence for now” (Sumisawa)
Behind the Character Creation
The character designs for Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha were done by Takahashi Rumiko-sensei. “At the beginning, Rumiko-sensei told us “I can’t draw a character if I don’t understand them”. The designs depicted here are the result of finally getting the OK after presenting many setting plans from our end.” (Sumisawa)
The Characters of “Inuyasha” Too
Sōta, who is the parent who raises Towa, is a familiar existence to “Inuyasha” fans. In addition, Kohaku, who is the head of the demon slayer group that Setsuna is a part of, is the little brother of Sango who is Inuyasha’s comrade. He was also an important character who held the key to the struggle for the Shikon Jewel. Will other characters from “Inuyasha” make an appearance besides them?
The Feudal Fairytale Going Between Two Eras Series Composition: Sumisawa Katsuyuki
— First, please tell us the details of how this work came about.
Sumisawa: Over 3 years ago, the producer for anime “Inuyasha”, Suwa Michihiko, said to me “I want you to write a continuation for “Inuyasha””. I thought “Goodness, what is this person saying” (laughs). Afterall, “Inuyasha” was concluded. Takahashi Rumiko-sensei is a perfect original creator so there wasn’t a single unanswered thing. I don’t think there are many mangas that conclude so beautifully and properly that it’s deeply moving. On top of that, I wrote the script for the anime called “Inuyasha The Final Act” and brought it to an end myself, so depicting something beyond that is impossible.
— What sort of story direction did Suwa-san come up with?
Sumisawa: When I also asked back “Inuyasha and Kagome don’t have any problems, the Bone Eater’s Well (which connects the modern and feudal era) can no longer be traversed, Naraku was defeated and the Shikon Jewel is gone. What sort of story would we make?” and he responded, “Coming up with (a story) is your job isn’t it” (laughs).
— That is a very unreasonable request (laughs).
Sumisawa: Yes. That’s why I put it on the backburner for over 2 years after that. It’s just that when I was invited to and attended an anime event in Washington D.C, there was a person there cosplaying the Great Dog Demon (Inuyasha and Sesshōmaru’s father). That person said to me “Please hurry and make a sequel to “Inuyasha”!”. It seems that even now, they felt that “Inuyasha” was still a passionate real time work. With that, what I came up with after rethinking “Maybe I can write something with this” was “the story of Sesshōmaru’s daughter”.
— Why Sesshōmaru’s child instead of Inuyasha and Kagome’s child?
Sumisawa: When the work features the child of the protagonist as the main character, the parents steal show when they make an appearance. Even Rumiko-sensei analyzed that “Even if you make it a story about Inuyasha’s son confronting some incident, you can’t surpass the method in which the problem was resolved in the work “Inuyasha”, so it’s impossible”. In that case, I suggested to Rumiko-sensei “If it’s Sesshōmaru’s daughter, it would be a different development”.
— What was Takahashi-san’s reaction when she heard that idea?
Sumisawa: At first, she was unsure like “Hmm” for a long time. It’s only natural. Among the characters that Rumiko-sensei created, Sesshōmaru was a character that she had a strong emotional attachment to. However, she told me “But if it’s Sumisawa-san, it might be doable” and I said, “Please allow me to do this!”. I was grateful that Rumiko-sensei trusted me. I strongly felt that I had to live up to that trust. Actually, I thought of an idea where the setting would be the “modern era” and Sesshōmaru’s daughters would fight demons with Sesshōmaru being mostly uninvolved. However, that didn’t work at all. Now, I’m embarrassed at myself for coming up with that plan.
— That sounds entertaining in it of itself.
Sumisawa: No. First, the atmosphere wouldn’t be serious. Also, if you don’t have the component of going between the feudal and modern eras, it wouldn’t be the “Inuyasha” world. If you only have one (era), it wouldn’t be “a feudal fairytale”.
— Then, how was the title “Hanyō no Yashahime” decided?
Sumisawa: We didn’t really struggle to come up with this title. Rumiko-sensei invented the word "half-demon” (half human and half demon), so “HANYO” is understood overseas. Thus, we purposely put this globally understood word “half-demon” into the title. “Yashahime” is used in other (works) as well, so our aim was to put something in front. The “feudal fairytale” in the logo “Is like what “mobile suit” is to “Gundam”” as Sunrise’s Ogata Naohiro-san put it.
— So it becomes a new feudal fairytale with the half-demon girls as the main characters.
Sumisawa: The thing is, I said earlier that “Inuyasha” was a manga that didn’t leave a single thing unanswered, but actually, there’s a little bit of content that wasn’t shown in the anime. For example, when Rumiko-sensei did a one-time revival of “Inuyasha” for the Great East Japan Earthquake revitalization support project, “Heroes Come Back”. This was published in volume 30 of the “Inuyasha” Wide Edition comics. That and to show “Inuyasha The Final Act” within the episode limit, we ended up not touching some of the episodes (within the manga). So I thought I had to write those in.
— Currently, the two biggest questions fans have been focused on are “Why are Inuyasha, Kagome, and Sesshōmaru not raising their children?” and “Who is Sesshōmaru’s wife?”
Sumisawa:
Yes. I can’t answer that here, but under Takahashi Rumiko-sensei’s supervision, there’s no way we would leave out those very important topics. Of course, these are properly shown in the main story so look forward to seeing it. Please be at ease.

Rantception S1•E1 - princeofmints exposed | ft. TatSquirp
(I am about a month late on posting this here)
Welcome to the first episode of my brand new series titled Rantception where I talk about a topic or some unfortunate soul who became a total jerk as of recently. I am starting this series off by talking about the user by the name of princeofmints.
princeofmints is apart of the Eddsworld community and they are apart of the official EW Amino, Tumblr, and Instagram. Unfortunately princeofmints is in some hot water right now.
Oh and before I get to that, I just want to make this clear, the princeofmints that I am referring to isn't the one who made tomtord p*rn. This princeofmints is actually accused of tracing and being a total d*ck.
Also they got banned from Amino, but they are still going strong on both Tumblr and Instagram.
One more thing: don't harass them. Instead I want you to stop supporting them. Don't not praise them.
With that out the way, let's get into the news.
I unfortunately didn't know any of this drama that happened till seeing callout posts about it. But I used to like princeofmints's posts until what happened recently.
I decided to to take a look at their wall after seeing a few callout posts on them before they got taken down.
Annnnnd yeah.....they are such an arsehole. Just...just look at these screenshots....
(the third one is my favorite in terms of arsehole energy that's being radiated from it)
I'll be honest with you, the third is the one that show the bitterness of princeofmints. Trying to guilt trip you. I'm sorry to say this, but it's not working. Nice try.
Now I'll handing the rest of this over to the one and only Squirp/TatSquirp who've agreed to be on the show and I certainly didn't kidnap them.
Squirp: ...Why am I here? Why am I tied u-
Lbat1901(me): Shhhh! Just give the audience your side on this
Squirp: Ok, fine...*clears throat*....so a week ago, I've made a callout post exposing princeofmints titled "Dethroning a Prince". It took me awhile to everything and not too soon after posting it on Animo, I've also posted it on Instagram.
Oh boy...it got taken down. No actually I got told by a model on Animo to take it down which I did while on Instagram it got flagged for harassment. I eventually reposted it.
princeofmints (or what I like to call her, Prince) is a 15 year old artist who mostly draws Tom, Tord, and the ship TomTord. She was on the EW Amino since January 13th of this year before getting banned. S
Alright with that out of the way, I'll try to make this brief
She also has been known to cause quite the trouble.
I have been caught up to speed on what Prince has done even learning th as t she had actually scammed someone.
I believe that Lbat told you this already, but Prince's name was stolen by someone who has the same name, but let's dwell on this.
Part 1 - Tracing:
Squirp: Ok so, a few days ago some of my friends and I looked at one of Prince's art and discovered that it was traced from an already existing drawing made by P-Nim. Of course Prince denied this and claimed that it was her own art.
Ok I'll make this clear, Prince didn't draw it for a DTIYS. If Prince didn't trace it then she shouldn't be claiming it as her own.
Also if you want to compare posts or have a look for yourself, you can't cause she deleted it. So much for being reasonable which goes into this next part....
Part 2 - Blocking those who've cornered you for being unreasonable:
Squirp: Oh yes, just like TBATF, Prince also blocks people for calling her out. Unlike TBATF who only block people for giving them criticism and calling them out on their behavior, Prince blocks people for many reasons.
One of them being totally unreasonable. She blocked one of my friends who called her out for tracing. Prince even deleted several comments when trying to defend herself for being called out before deciding to hit the block button.
She even blocked me after I tried to call her out on her wall. I did PM her a few days later about and guess what her response was. The reason why she blocked me was because she didn't like me.
My god....that has to be most stupidest as all hell reason to block someone and folks, we're on the second part on this and things are already getting heated.
Part 3 - Being a b*ch isn't all that cool:
Squirp: Hold on a minute, why is b*ch censored?
(Editor: that's because it's Lbat's show and I am meant to help with anything that Lbat puts out for everyone to see)
Squirp: Yeah, but why? Who cares anyway?
(Editor: well you're probably have a point, but it's my job. Now are you going to continue to argue or are you going to keep going with your side of the story?)
Squirp: I am...geez! I've never meant an editor that's who picky. This isn't YouTube with the whole COPPA thing you know.
Anyway..... pt 3....Prince has to be one of the biggest d*cks that I have ever talked to and- oh my god, why would you censor the word- forget it. Forget it...
Erm...yeah....she cursed at some many people that it's just mindboggling. She's not the most pleasant person to talk to on Amino or anywhere else.
Before you say that she probably has some mental health issues, don't even bother. Well I know she does has some issues, but it doesn't give her the excuse to not be a total d*ck. People who do have issues are at least well spoken and are respectful to others.
But Prince on the other hand, not a freaking single chance.
Part 4 - Stop acting sad:
Squirp: You're probably thinking to yourself, "Wow, Prince is a jerk" and you'd be right. But to make matters worse, she likes to guilt trip people.
How? Well she tries to make you feel sorry for her by giving you a sad sad tale before deciding to cuss you out.
That's right, it's pretty low for her. I don't need to explain why this is bad just because it is. It's really scummy especially when she's in the wrong here. Next!
Part 5 - Don't let Prince do commissions. EVER:
Oh yeah, she actually did this. I did found the person who got scammed and they are a person known as BadBoy.
You see BadBoy commissioned Prince to do a drawing for 92 coins. Unfortunately for BadBoy, Prince said that the price was actually lower than that. But it gets much much worse than that.
Prince got wicked with them and refused to give other pieces of art to BadBoy. Eventually BadBoy had enough and asked for a refund. That's when things started to escalate really fast.
Prince told BadBoy to piss off. After a long battle, Prince gave BadBoy 72 coins back when BadBoy asked for a full refund.
Squirp: I have been saving this part for last and it gave me a reason to make a callout on Prince in the first place. She literally scammed someone over 72 coins.
In summary, Prince just stole BadBoy's money and was a total d*ck towards them.
And that should do it for now, but I one final message to Prince. If you're reading this now while getting harassed for being callout for your crap: none of this, and I stress this a lot, none of this wouldn't have happened if you were to just act a tad bit kinder and a whole bit wiser.
Oh and maybe if you would've just listened. Also running away from your problems, lying, and pretending that they didn't happen makes you look like the bad guy here.
You know, I wouldn't mind you being on Animo at all if you just shallow your pride and try to do better by apologizing to everyone.
I didn't mean to make my callout post to hurt you in a way. In fact, I still believe that you can change. But atlas, your problems need to be addressed to make that happen.
All you need to do is try. That's it. That's all I ask for.
Lbat1901(me): *claps* Nicely done, Squirp. Nicely done.
Squirp: Thanks Lbat. It's been a pleasure being on here. Now can I go home now?
Lbat1901(me): Uhh.....*walks away from Squirp and walks out of the room before shutting the door*
Squirp: Lbat? Uh Lbat? Lbat? This isn't funny! Untie me! Hey cameraman, you're still here. Untie me, please
Camraman: *shrugs before shaking their head*
Squirp: What do you mean no? Ugh!
{screen cuts to Lbat sitting in a chair}
Lbat1901(me): Well that's the end of the first episode of Rantception. I want to thank TatSquirp for coming on and helping me out. Please check them out on the EW Amino and possibly their Instagram as well while you're at it.

University - Animation Exercises - Character Turn Around
So far in semester 2 for Animation exercises we have been learning how to draw in 3D and animate with said 3D drawings, as well as learning the concepts of walk cycles whether it be a drawn or rigged walk cycle. To me our latest piece the “Character Turn Around” had in some way featured an aspect of everything we had done so far. Which left me feeling in this strange state of feeling good from learning a lot, but at the same time, feeling incomplete like I’d done something wrong or something was missing? In this post I will explain my creation process over this 5 week long project.
The Creation of my Character
Although this project officially began on the 2nd of March, for me it began on the 24th of February. We had to come to the following week’s lesson with a character we would turn around. This would prove challenging as this would be my first go at drawing in 3D on a PC with no reference. We had done perspective drawing for shadows and distance of objects in the past for AX1111, but never a full 3D design for an original character, so this would prove challenging for me. After three days of drawing and trying to open my mind to a 3D space, I had created my character. Inspired by both my grand parents baking and the video game character Dr Neo Cortex, who I had briefly used as a reference for research for my E4 Project (AX1011), I created a funnel, with a rectangular body and short stumpy legs it’s key characteristic was his comically large head and head popping out from inside his head.
First Character design
Filter
Dr Neo Cortex Character
When the 2nd of March arrived I was feeling good about having everything ready to go, however everything became halted when the lesson began. Our tutor was explaining how it is best if your characters height and body proportions are three heads high. Since my character was mostly all head and small body, I felt I had to go back to the drawing board and tweak the design. Later that day, I contacted my tutor and asked him if he thought the design was acceptable for me to use. We discussed the design for around 15 minutes and he advised me to re think the design to include more features that stick out other than the hair.
After staring at my design for about half an hour, I decided to start over not feeling happy with the design or knowing what else to do with it. The next character was inspired by an accident I had, I was carrying through a cup of tea for my parents and burnt my hands when some spilt on the handle. It was at this moment of shock, I realised the handle sticking out from the cup reminded me of a nose and I came up with the idea to make my character a cup, it was only until I began sketching that i realised that there is an animated video game with a character called “Cuphead” which was identical for what I was going for. The last thing I ever wanted to do was copy something that already exists knowingly, so I back peddled to the source of the tea being a kettle which water is poured from into a cup or a tea pot.
Cuphead
Creating the Teapot Character
It was from here I decided to make my character a tea pot with its handle as a large inconvenient nose and the spout as a sort of pony tail/ hair. I sketched the design and asked my tutor again the next week on his opinion of the design was and if it was any better. He explained its a step in the right direction and noted he liked me making the handle the nose as most people would make the spout the nose (It was a different approach in design), however the character didn’t look like a teapot and more like a cooking pan. After the call I searched on the internet for teapots picked one and tried to draw it, the only issue was most images where a side view of the teapot and none from the handle which, made it difficult for me to visualise.
Second Character Design
Third Character Design
I contact the tutor again the same day with an updated design, again he thought it was getting there but some angles in the design weren’t quite right, he directed me to a website called “Sketchfab”. A website where people upload 3D models of objects and viewers can rotate around them and oddly enough I don’t own a Teapot so this was perfect and will likely refer back to this website for future projects. Anyway I realised and facepalmed myself upon realising the base shape of a teapot doesn’t change when rotating, only the spout an handle changed shape and position.
Once this was made apparent to me I spent the rest of the week refining the design, one other comment my tutor made in his feed back was try and make the characters T-shirt stand out, so I decided to make most of the body Twa related. So I made a square teabag the body/ T-shirt and the legs & feet two bent tea spoons. The arms where a mixture of these little stirs i would have to hand out at my old job, but made them silver instead of brown to match with the rest of the limbs and body parts. Lastly as an additional feature to stick out of the design I added a stringed label/ tag that can be found on some tea bag brands.
Animating the Turn Around
Now that the character design was finalised, I was worried about time, for a 4 week long project, I had spent two and an half of those weeks (Plus one more for the very first design) trying get the design right without beginning to learn and refine the techniques of animating. So I hit the ground running make this turn around top priority. I began by drawing the 8 eight key positions for the character, starting with the 3 quarte turn and rotating clockwise from there. I created with two roughs in shades of blue then did the final rough in black.
Using the Onion skin tool and following the Power Point provided to us on Blackboard, I drew the 8 key positions and made sure each section of the body was roughly one head in length. I copied the head and placed it to the side using Shift + Left arrow, in case I made a mistake with the head, I could easily replace it. When these 8 key positions where placed, I showed my tutor my current work, the feedback stated that I was doing OK, but the legs and feet kept growing and shrinking, changing length proportion.
At the time I was aware of this issue, but was not too sure how to resolve the issue. But, with only one week until the hand in date, I couldn’t wait around for answers, so I carried on inbetweening each key position to one another, again following the instructions on the power point. It did take me a day or two to understand how to use the “Shift and Trace” technique effectively, but I feel I had grasped a somewhat of an understanding of the method. Once this was done, I cleaned up any over laying lines and focused on the feet, as I noticed when i tried erasing all the feet, the legs never really changed size it was only the feet.
(Me Erasing overlapping/ additional lines)
It took me roughly three to four days to figure out how to remedy this, I tried many things such as adjusting the scale of the feet, tweaking the legs to accommodate the feet and giving the feet a bit more depth. However, it wasn’t until I placed two guidelines for the feet and drew the feet in-between each line that the changing size problem wasn’t as bad as it was, it was still there, but not as bad as it once was.
Final touch ups
Now that everything was finished, added two extra layers for the tea bad and tea grains and another layer for the netting which holds the tea inside. I coloured those in and the rest of the design and uploaded the work as a “Ver 1″, this was followed up two days later with “Ver 2″ where I had cleaned up some of the lines, overlaying colours and fixed the tag/ label on the characters back to look less jumpy (changing positions each frame).
Conclusion
Overall, in a sense this was the project I was anticipating to happen, where it ticks all the boxes of things to do I was worried about before starting on the course. And now I’m at the end of the project, like at the start of this post I’m both happy as I feel like I learned a lot, but I still feel that I need to refine these skills. Like the previously mentioned Shift + trace as I feel I will need to practice this in the future to become better equated with it. Also small details such as the netting shifting positions, mainly due to time constraints and trying to create depth for both the front netting and side netting (on the body).
When something like this appears again, I’m curious to see how it goes, now knowing the difficulties I may face and knowing how to overcome some of them better.
Additional/ Unused Screenshots
For the first three images, the context for them is my tutor, suggested as a way to help me understand leg rotation and body rotation, I could try sticking two pencils to some blue tack and rotate the blue tack from the spine of the model.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have any pencils on me at the time so I used three small wooden barbecue skewers. However due to this, I wasn’t sure if this would work, so I created the teabag body and spoon legs/ feet and stuck them together with white Tack.
